EUROBIKE is the central platform for the bike and future mobility universe. After 30 years as the world leading trade show for the bike industry at Messe Friedrichshafen, EUROBIKE is premiering at its new location in the trade fair and mobility metropolis of Frankfurt/Main from 13 to 17 July 2022. Under the umbrella of the EUROBIKE CYCLING WEEK, the EUROBIKE SHOW will be taking place as a major display of innovation within the world of bicycles and future mobility, offering Business and Festival Days at Messe Frankfurt, while hands-on activities and street festivals are planned throughout the state capital as part of EUROBIKE CITY.
EUROBIKE CITY: Bikes in Frankfurt
Thanks to EUROBIKE CITY, the subject of bikes will become visible throughout Frankfurt: during the whole week, tours with e-bikes, mountain bikes and cargo bikes as well as tours just for women will be inviting riders to take part in cycling adventures around the metropolis on the Main. Closed off to traffic for the occasion, the Mainkai will await all bike fans with a rich and colourful programme of events based on bike culture, featuring a bike flea market, a children’s circuit, street food, info stands by action groups, workshops and films on the stages. At the weekend, the Osthafen will be devoted to the Pumptrack Challenge and BMX workshops, while “Chilling & Grilling” with a DJ will provide a relaxed way to round off the day.
Special cycle paths will be set up between the central station and all EUROBIKE locations, the EUROBIKE Map will show all cyclists the way and extensive bike parking spaces will be available for them to leave their bikes during the events and festivities. More than 2,000 rental bikes provided by DB Connect will be available for hire at the central station and at pop-up stations through a voucher scheme, and visitors travelling to Frankfurt by train will be able to benefit from the allocation of saver tickets and free local transport tickets.
EUROBIKE SHOW: Product highlights & hall layout
In seven halls and the large outdoor area of Messe Frankfurt, 1,500 exhibitors will be presenting product innovations from the fields of bicycles and e-bikes, parts, components and apparel. As a platform on which the relevant players can meet, EUROBIKE 2022 is covering even more segments and special interest areas than ever before. In addition to the classic booth areas in Halls 8-12 and on the outdoor area, there will be a variety of spaces each focusing on a special field.
The large retailer associations ZEG and BIKE&CO are relocating their in-house shows to EUROBIKE. Future mobility topics will be concentrated in Hall 8: as a driver of the green mobility transformation, the Cargo Area will be presenting young international brands with more than 100 innovative names from the fields of micromobility and lightweight mobility, last mile solutions, infrastructure required for sharing, logistics and digitization. And the spotlight will not only be on vehicles, an increasingly important part of the sector is represented by the offers on display in the Service Area. Products in Hall 11.1 will focus on the sports-minded cyclists: road bikes & triathlon, e-cycling, gravel bikes and frame building – special displays will bring all the important exhibitors and interested visitors from this segment together in one place. “Tourism & Bike Travel” will be presenting the major trend of sustainable bike holidays in the portal house.
EUROBIKE SHOW: Political agenda, conferences & networking formats
On the Business Days from 13 to 15 July, numerous conference and network formats will be bringing all the stakeholders and interest groups in the field of future mobility together in one place. EUROBIKE actually starts on 12 July, the eve of the trade show, with the international industry discussion and the press tour. A multinational panel for the BIKE BIZ REVOLUTION will be providing stimuli for the future viability of the industry, and, to close the proceedings the invited audience will have an opportunity for further discussions at the EUROBIKE Networking Dinner.
A new mobility congress, the EUROBIKE CONVENTION, on 13 July opens the showcase of innovations in the world of bikes and mobility. Under the motto “Designing the future of mobility”, it is primarily aimed at new target groups from municipal politics and administration, regional development planning, service providers and infrastructure, with a view to laying down the foundation for the green mobility transformation. The involvement of prominent guests and high-ranking politicians from all levels underlines this aspiration. The German Federal Minister for Digital And Transport Dr Volker Wissing is taking on the patronage of EUROBIKE and is planning to attend and also deliver a keynote at the EUROBIKE CONVENTION. Tarek Al-Wazir, the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Housing, and the Mayor of Frankfurt Peter Feldmann are both supporting the event as patrons.
The second day of the show focuses on the drivers of innovation within the industry. During GRAVEL TALK, offroad adventures and wider tyre road bikes are the centre of attention, while the CARGO ACADEMY discusses market data and components along with aspects of safety and infrastructure. The START-UP & INNOVATION DAY supplements the START-UP AREA with presentation and network formats aimed at introducing products and ideas to the industry, investors, municipalities and the public. Thursday at the show then concludes with the legendary EUROBIKE PARTY.
Key events on Friday are special panels and networking events for women in the industry as well as the international cycle tourism congress TRAVEL TALK featuring innovations in bike holidays.
For the entire duration of the show, the EUROBIKE ACADEMY is offering a dialogue forum covering all issues within the bike industry, including events on Marketing, Retail Trends & Change and also Digital & Technology.
